“The walking tiger”, is the title of five new paintings that I’m working on.
The title is inspired by Alberto Giacometti’s sculpture “L’homme qui marche I”.
Giacometti has stated that “the natural balance of the walker movement, is a symbol of man’s own life force.”
The same life force is made apparent also in the tiger’s movements as it goes, and it is this natural force and ferocity that has been inspiring for my pictures.
The vital force which is in Giacometti’s main character, is also present in the artistic process, it is not only the vitality of both human and animal movement radiates, but also in working to achieve in painting.
